Ride from Pune to Statue of Unity Gujarat: ‘SMALL DISCUSSION OVER A CUP OF TEA CAN MAKE WONDERS’
Over a small chit-chat session, few of our riders initiated a discussion on places to go for a long ride & while discussing, we have decided to explore STATUE OF UNITY Gujarat, the Highest Statue in the World. Looking at the current atmosphere and considering the heat & dehydration during day times, we have decided to ride on Friday night post coming back from office.
We have started our journey on Friday night at 10 pm from Lonavala. It was an amazing ride with cold and pleasant breeze along with heavy truck traffic all over. Since it was a night ride after hectic day, we were more interested in taking tea break to stay awake during the ride.
We reached Gujarat on Saturday morning and had breakfast enroute. Later we checked in the hotel and have refreshed ourselves for a first glance of Statue of Unity. We moved towards the location which is on the banks of Narmada River.
Standing next to the statue and taking pictures was really amazing and breathtaking experience for all of us. After exploring the Statue of Unity Gujarat and surroundings, we returned to the hotel for taking rest after 24 hours of journey and exploration.
Sunday morning we have started our journey towards Pune at 6am via Mumbai. Our dear friend Umesh took us for an authentic Gujarati breakfast that consist of fafda, jalebi, bhujiya, khaman, dohokla, papaya chatni.
Post that it was a tough time for us to ride in red hot summer heat. We had to take regular breaks for water, juice, ice-cream and tea to keep us hydrated during the ride. With lots of enjoyment, fun, masti and lovely food, we finally completed our 30 hours ride (both way) of 1300 kms approx. We reached Pune safely at 10pm with loads to memories and amazing riding experience.
Thanks a lot our photographers Harshad, Umesh, Manoj and Avinash.
